Terms of Use

1. The Service

KitXL provides online file-processing and browser-based tools. A tool may run locally in your browser or may require files to be sent to a server. Each tool page explains its file-handling method before you select or submit a file.

KitXL currently does not require an account. Features and results may vary because of your device, browser, file format, file size, network conditions, or other technical factors.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of agreeing to these Terms. KitXL is not directed to children under 13. If you are below the age at which local law permits independent use of digital services, a parent or guardian must decide and supervise your use.

If you use KitXL for a business, institution, or other organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these Terms for that organization.

3. Your Files and Results

You retain all rights you lawfully hold in files you select, upload, or process and in the resulting files. KitXL does not acquire ownership merely because you use a tool.

For a tool that clearly requires server processing, you give KitXL only the limited and temporary permission necessary to perform the task you request. This permission does not allow us to use files or file contents for advertising, website analytics, human review, or machine-learning model training.

You may use results for personal or commercial purposes if you have the right to use the source files and your use complies with applicable law, third-party rights, and applicable licenses. KitXL does not grant rights in third-party content, trademarks, fonts, software, or other materials contained in a source file.

4. Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• having the right to select, upload, process, and use each file;
• complying with applicable law and third-party license terms;
• checking each result for accuracy, completeness, and suitability before relying on, publishing, or distributing it;
• keeping necessary originals and backups before processing; and
• ensuring that results do not infringe copyright, trademarks, privacy, personality, or other rights.

Conversion, compression, editing, and other processing may change quality, color, transparency, layout, metadata, file structure, or compatibility. Do not use KitXL as the only storage location or backup for an important file.

5. Acceptable Use

You must not use KitXL to:

• engage in illegal, fraudulent, infringing, harassing, threatening, deceptive, or harmful activity;
• process files you have no right to use or violate intellectual-property, privacy, personality, or other rights;
• create, distribute, or assist malware, viruses, destructive code, spam, or cyberattacks;
• bypass, disrupt, test, or interfere with access controls, security measures, rate limits, or infrastructure, except for security testing we authorize in writing;
• send automated requests that create abnormal load, interruption, or excessive resource use;
• bulk-scrape, copy, or republish KitXL content, tool pages, data, or interfaces without permission;
• impersonate others, misrepresent an affiliation, or falsely imply KitXL endorsement; or
• help another person do anything prohibited by this section.

Ordinary search-engine crawling and normal browser access that do not affect service stability are not prohibited by the automation rule, but must still follow applicable law and our published technical rules.

6. KitXL Content and Intellectual Property

Except for your files, results, and third-party materials, the software, code, interface, design, text, graphics, marks, and other KitXL website content belong to KitXL or the relevant rightsholders and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the website and use the tools. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, copy, create a substitute or competing version of the service, or remove rights notices.

“KitXL,” “KitXL Tools,” and related marks may not be used in a way that creates confusion about source, affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement.

7. Third-Party Content and Services

KitXL may link to third-party websites, documentation, software, or services. They are controlled by their own providers and subject to their own terms and privacy policies. A link does not mean that KitXL endorses, controls, or guarantees the third party unless we expressly say so.

Transactions, communications, and disputes between you and a third party are the responsibility of you and that third party.

8. Availability and Changes

We may maintain, modify, add, limit, suspend, or discontinue any part of the website or tools. We do not guarantee that a tool, format, capability, or page will always be available or that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, error-free, or free from data loss.

Where reasonably practical, we try to avoid unnecessary disruption, but we do not promise advance notice of every maintenance event, change, or discontinuation.

9. Access Restrictions

We may restrict or block access to some or all of the service if we reasonably believe that you violated these Terms, threatened service security, infringed rights, created legal risk, or caused abnormal load or interference.

An access restriction does not affect other rights available to us under applicable law.

10. Disclaimers

KitXL is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no express, implied, or statutory warranty, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, quality, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, continuous availability, or error-free operation.

KitXL provides general-purpose file tools, not legal, medical, financial, engineering, archival, or other professional advice. A tool result is not a substitute for an original file, professional review, or independent verification.

You must check results before using them. Keep originals and use appropriate independent backups and verification for important, irreplaceable, or time-sensitive files.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, KitXL is not liable for loss or damage arising from access to, use of, reliance on, or inability to use the website, tools, or results, including:

• loss, corruption, or alteration of files, data, metadata, or results;
• loss of profit, revenue, opportunity, goodwill, anticipated savings, or contracts;
• service interruption, failed processing, compatibility problems, or third-party conduct; and
• indirect, incidental, special, punitive, exemplary, or consequential loss.

If applicable law does not permit a category of liability to be excluded or limited completely, KitXL’s responsibility for that category is limited to the minimum extent permitted by that law.

These Terms do not exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and do not affect mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived by contract.

12. Copyright and Rights Complaints

If you believe content on the KitXL website infringes your copyright, trademark, or other legal rights, email [email protected] and provide:

• your name and contact information;
• a description of the protected work or material;
• the location of the allegedly infringing content on KitXL;
• why you believe the use is unauthorized; and
• other information reasonably needed to verify and process the complaint.

Do not submit false, misleading, or abusive complaints.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when our tools, service scope, technical conditions, or legal obligations change. We will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of the page.

If a change materially affects user rights or obligations, we will provide a more prominent website notice before it takes effect. Unless the notice says otherwise, updated Terms take effect when published.

Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you agree to them. If you do not agree to a change, stop using KitXL.

14. Interpretation

If any part of these Terms is held invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue in effect. Where permitted, the affected part will be interpreted as closely as possible to its original purpose.

A delay or failure by us to exercise or enforce a right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy together state the rules that apply to your use of KitXL. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle information related to the website and tools.
